Regular Hajj Visas Issued – The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) through the Directorate of Domestic Hajj Services reported that as of April 23, 2024, a total of 75,572 regular Hajj visas have been issued. This number continues to increase as the visa issuance process remains ongoing.
“Alhamdulillah, as of today, there have been 75,572 regular Hajj visas issued. The visa issuance process is ongoing until all Indonesian Hajj visas are issued,” said Director of Domestic Hajj Services, Saiful Mujab, in a statement released by Kemenag on Wednesday (4/23/2024).
According to Saiful, the visa issuance process begins with the input of data and documents of the Hajj pilgrims by teams at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Offices (Kankemenag) in districts/cities and provincial Kemenag offices. To date, a total of 216,791 pilgrim data have been received. Out of this number, data for 207,527 pilgrims have been verified for visa issuance.
“As of today, we have submitted visa issuance requests for 134,960 pilgrims,” Saiful explained.
For reference, Indonesia’s Hajj quota this year is 221,000 pilgrims. Additionally, Indonesia has been granted an additional quota of 20,000 pilgrims. Thus, the total Indonesian Hajj quota is 241,000 pilgrims, consisting of 213,320 regular Hajj pilgrims and 27,680 special Hajj pilgrims.
Hajj Flights to Commence on May 12, 2024
Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are scheduled to begin entering Hajj dormitories on May 11, 2024. Their flights will commence the following day, on May 12, 2024, from the embarkation points to Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport (AMAA) in Madinah.
Flights for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from the embarkation points to King Abdul Aziz International Airport (KAAIA) in Jeddah will begin on May 24, 2024. Saiful Mujab urged all Hajj pilgrims to prepare themselves as best as possible, including completing travel documents and following instructions from officials.
